by the beard of edison, it’s working! ladies and gentlemen we have electrical energy and the power to convert it to the most delectable, most exotic caffeine energy imaginable. boys and girls, the synesso cyncra machine is alive and the coffee is kicking.
something new is about to happen to sea circus. like buddy, at first i was a little scared about it, but now i’m just ridiculously overexcited…. one more sleep boys and girls… one more sleep!
in the lower half of the world today is summer solstice. year 9 geography tells me that this means the earth’s axial tilt will be at its maximum inclination towards the sun. childhood memories tell me that this is the ‘longest day of the year’… and what better day to launch brunch?
that’s right ladies and gentlemen, sea circus is no longer nocturnal. no longer do we have to wait for the sun to set. now we are up in the day!
open from 8am everyday for breakfast, lunch and brunch.
purveyors of coffee and croissants, eggs and oj, salads and smoothies. take a glimpse at the brunch menu here. then come and say selamat pagi. or bonjour. or gutentag. or buenos dias. or…
p.s. i just have to say that it feels really antipodean saying that today is the ‘summer solstice’ when we all know that really it should be the ‘winter solstice’. whatever it is in your hemisphere, enjoy!

i beseech anyone to find a yummier pancake on the island than the ones served up daily at sea circus brunch…
the mixture of the fluffy ricotta cakes, the sweet banana fritters and the secret caramel sauce is just too much for this english girl to handle.
now hand me a cup of that coffee and play my song pedro.

sunday brunch & beats - every sunday [11-5]
sunday brunch & live dj beats - last sunday of every month [11-5]
i loved every bit of last sunday’s brunch & beats… but my favourite bit was probably this…

in october 2010 australian cricketer ricky ponting described the young english batsman - alastair cook - as the team’s ‘weak link’. 766 runs and an ashes win later and i think it’s safe to say ponting’s point [like his team’s performance] wasn’t his strongest. weak link? yeah, not so much.

yes, that is an australian sporting the union jack flag as a cape. yes, he is doing the royal wave. and no, you should never bet against an educated english girl. la la la!
[slightly worried about the rugby now… but looking forward to watching england talent jonny wilkinson and danny cipriani nonetheless]
‘wake up and smell the frangipani’ - morning coffee five senses bali style
